Our Commitment to Compliance and Data Protection
The development of a blockchain-based global utility for verifiable and trusted career credentials is a massive undertaking. The success of this venture depends on being accepted and adopted by all existing stakeholders in the global labor market and its supporting ecosystem. The world’s governments, specifically regulatory and law enforcement authorities, are essential partners in this endeavor.
The Foundation worked with policymakers to assure the design and deployment of Velocity Network adhered to the principles of 'privacy and data protection by design and by default’ ensuring data protection and the safeguarding of individual rights.
Velocity Network’s compliance framework was presented to regulatory bodies in major jurisdictions, including the CFPB and FTC in the U.S. and CNIL in the EU.
The project underwent rigorous audits by esteemed specialized law firms to ensure adherence to regulations in key jurisdictions, including the U.S. (CCPA and CPRA, FCRA), EU and EEA (GDPR), as well as the specific privacy regulations for the UK, France, Germany, and other jurisdictions.
We continue to work with policymakers and legal professionals to assure continued regulatory compliance as regulations adapt to address innovation and other changes in the market.
We welcome public inquiry and accountability. The network’s tech stack and protocols, as well as its policies and governance documents, are all open for public review.
The Foundation itself is not involved in processing or storing any personal data of users, other than for the purposes of complying with applicable anti-money laundering (AML), Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and sanctions laws.
